Paddington fans were in for SUCH a treat over the Autumn half term - and no tricks were in sight!

Paddington Bear was invited to York for the whole of the Autumn half term school holidays.

Some of the free activities that were available are listed below:
  • Paddington Bear appearances


    Visitors were able to see Paddington Bear on the Promenade in Station Hall all week at the following times:
    10.30-11.10am
    12.00-12.40pm
    1.30-2.10pm
    3.00-3.40pm
    4.00-4.30pm

  • Dress up like Paddington Bear


    From 10.30 to 4.30pm
    Dress up like the bear himself.

  • The Magic Hatter's Teddy Bear Treasure Hunt


    Takes place on 27, 28, 31 October and from 1- 4 November at 11am and 12.30. The events run for 45 minutes.
    Join The Magic Hatter in a quest to find Paddington's missing marmalade sandwiches. Suitable for children under 6 and their families.

  • Spot the teddy bears

    – all week, running all day
    Our Explainers have brought their favourite bears to the museum but forgotten where they’ve put them. Can you spot them in Station Hall?

  • Paddington Bear storytelling

    – all week at 11.30am, 1.30pm, 3.30pm
    Join our Explainers as they tell the story of one of Paddington’s adventures

  • Adventure Playground


    Let off steam on our slides and climbing frames. Open all day.

  • Science Shows


    Explore how engines move in our explosive science show, Rocket to Bullet and find out all about bubbles in All Aboard the Bubble Train, at 12:30pm and 2:30pm in the Learning Platform.


So grab your duffle coat and marmalade sandwiches and head to the museum for family trails, craft activities and you can even dress up like this famous cuddly bear!
