World's Original Marmalade Festival

Paddington, who is well known for his love of marmalade, has been made a patron of The World's Original Marmalade Festival in honour of his 50th anniversary.

• In the week preceding the festival
• Paddington will visit food halls
• bakeries and schools and will even take a trip on an Ullswater steamer.
• Over 5
• 000 people are expected to attend the festival over the course of the weekend.
• Celebrities
• chefs and luminaries from the Women's Institute will be judging the intense competition to win the title of best marmalade in the world. With 10 different categories
• some will also be competing for Paddington’s prestigious sticky paw award!
• There will be shopping opportunities for the adults and entertainment for the children.
• Marmalade ice-cream will be on sale - a unique refreshment in a Cumbrian February!
