| As every self-respecting fan will know, Paddington celebrates two birthdays every year, just like the Queen. So he was delighted when he received an invitation recently to attend a party at Buckingham Palace on 25th June.
Of course the official reason given for the invitation is to celebrate the Queen's birthday as, just like Paddington's creator Michael Bond, she turned 80 this year. However, Paddington feels particularly honoured that the date chosen for the party just happens to be his own birthday.
Paddington will be joined at this very special and exciting event by 2,000 children from all over the country and a host of other famous characters from British children's literature, such as Postman Pat and Noddy who are shown with Paddington in the photo on the left when they all attended a press call at the Palace earlier this year.
You can read more about the reasons behind the party, who will be there and what will be happening on the day by visiting the official website of the Children's Party at the Palace.
In the meantime, Paddington has been spotted giving his boots an extra polish and we've been told he's even planning to have a bath in honour of the occasion! |
