|  Michael Bond was recently made an honorary Doctor of Letters by the University in the town in which he grew up.
Lord Carrington, Chancellor of the University of Reading, bestowed this very special honour at a graduation ceremony on Friday 6th July 2007.
Professor David Malvern, Head of the University's Institue of Education, gave an address in which he talked about Michael Bond's many achievements and concluded by saying that, through the many wonderful books he has written, he has not only brought a lot of pleasure to many people but also given children a really good reason to want to learn to read. |
