| With his extraordinary flair for developing characters, Michael Bond has written much more besides Paddington.
In the 1970's he created the children’s television classic The Herbs, Made in the UK by the FilmFair Ltd., the stop-start animated series featured characters based on herbs and included, among others, Dill the Dog, Sage the Owl and Parsley the Lion.
Michael Bond has also written a series of books about a highly unusual guinea pig called Olga da Polga, the most recent of which, Olga Follows Her Nose, was published last year by Oxford University Press.
Even adults are catered for with a series of books about the peripatetic detective and gastronome par excellence, Monsieur Pamplemousse and his faithful hound, Pommes Frites.
In total Michael Bond has written almost 150 books, including his autobiography Bears and Forebears which was published in the UK by HarperCollins. |
